Indian mobile operator Bharti Airtel has awarded a 10 year contract to IBM for technology operation management in Bangladesh, according to a December 8, 2010 report by the Dow Jones Newswires. It is reported that the contract is valued at US$80 million. As per the contract, Bharti Airtel will outsource its information technology, data center operation, and company network security management works in Bangladesh to IBM. Bharti Airtel is expected to transfer its employees and technology of its in-house technology team to IBM as well.
